Sustainability regulation brings new challenges for CFOs, while also presenting valuable opportunities. How can the CFO maintain a strategic overview while ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met?
To answer this question, ECOFACT and the CCR have developed the CFO Sustainability Compass. The Compass highlights the most important sustainability drivers and gives CFOs nine overarching recommendations. Each recommendation contains a rationale, a set of detailed actions for CFOs – specific tasks or decisions that need to be taken – and supporting insights.
The recommendations are split into two sections that mirror the key responsibilities of the CFO department: finance, strategy and growth, and reporting and communication.

You will find insightful and practical details on the nine overarching recommendations in the full report. Only the first of these is given in the short version of the report which is available to the public.
The full report is available to CCR members of the categories “Standard” and “Premium” as well as ECOFACT clients and also contains appendices with an overview of sustainability disclosure regulations in Germany and Switzerland, and of leading ESG rating agencies.
